The pigment particles are shredded into small enough particles to be reabsorbed by the body and removed by the immune system. The treatment of hyperpigmentation. This includes age-spots, melasma related hyperpigmentation and post-inflammatory skin trauma. Age spots are caused by prolonged exposure to Ultraviolet light stimulating concentrated production of melanin and discoloration. Melasma is similarly caused by ultraviolet as well as infrared light.
